FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Washington County Department of Human Services - 6/2/22

Washington County Department of Human Services has announced the launch of their new system integration, which will make it easier for county residents to access the services they need throughout their lifespan.

The system makes it possible for residents to call one centralized number to be connected to a variety of different services, like aging services, behavioral health and developmental services, children and youth services, housing and homelessness, and veterans’ affairs. One phone number, 724-228-1234, connects callers to a centralized intake unit and human services coordinators who can connect them with the appropriate agencies of services.

The department will kick off the implementation of the new system with a Launch and Learn event on June 30, 2022 from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm at 95 W. Beau Street in Washington, PA. Attendees can see firsthand how simple it is to navigate the system. Employees will be on hand to explain the services available and how to enroll.

The event will include fun activities for individuals and families, like a children's corner, tours, staff meet and greet, lunch, raffles and more.

Ahead of the event, Washington County Department of Human Services is hosting a coloring contest for the children in the community. Kids are encouraged to design and decorate a door (a printable coloring page and instructions for uploading artwork is available at https://www.co.washington.pa.us/886/Human-Services-Coloring-Contest) to represent all the doors that the Department of Human Services opens for people in the community. Winners will be announced on July 1. The artwork will be on display during the launch event.
